Very septic amputated left thigh. Supurating wound over sacrum, two granulating wounds of rt. thigh. Max. temp 101°+ Femur projected 10 cm from end of stump over wh. there are sluggish granulations. There are 3 definite pus pockets. One post. one ext. & one internal. These lead to surface by small sinuses wh. afford imperfect drainage.
Treatment - Careful removal of pus, irrigation, washing. Creolin & quinine dressings. Hot fomentations q. 4. h. Foreign bodies in left thigh have given trouble c [with] increasing suppuration
